Price of a service voucher in 2026: Brussels, Wallonia and Flanders

A service voucher costs between 10,00 € and 14,00 € depending on your region and on the number of vouchers you buy during the year. Here is the exact breakdown, with links to the official sources.

How much does a service voucher cost in 2026?

A service voucher costs 11,40 € in Brussels, 10,60 € in Wallonia and 10,00 € in Flanders for the first vouchers bought during the year. The price then rises in bands: 14,00 € in Brussels from the 301st voucher, 11,60 € then 12,60 € in Wallonia, 11,00 € in Flanders from the 401st. A service voucher entitles you to one hour of work, whatever the region. The price you pay depends on the region where you live, not on the place where your home cleaner works. 1 January is the reference date for the tax advantage, not for the price. These amounts are set by the regions, not by the agencies.

Does tax relief still exist in 2026?

In 2026, tax relief exists only in Wallonia. The Walloon Region keeps a tax reduction of 0,90 € per voucher, on the first 150 vouchers bought during the year, which brings the real cost down to 9,70 € an hour. Brussels abolished its tax advantage on 1 January 2026, and Flanders had abolished it a year earlier, on 1 January 2025. Watch out for a common confusion: vouchers bought in 2025 in Brussels still give a tax reduction of 15%, capped at 172 vouchers per person — the break only concerns vouchers bought from 2026 onwards. The Walloon advantage is a flat 0,90 € per voucher, not a percentage of the price.

What is changing in Brussels in 2026?

In Brussels, an hour of cleaning paid with service vouchers costs noticeably more in 2026 than in 2025. The end of tax relief on 1 January 2026 removes the advantage Brussels residents used to enjoy, and the base price has risen to 11,40 € for the first 300 vouchers. A second, less visible change comes with the first: the cap on administrative fees has been removed as well, and accredited Brussels companies may now charge them freely. Three conditions remain — those fees cannot be paid with service vouchers, they must be explicitly accepted by the client, and they must correspond to real, justified costs.

What do 3 hours of cleaning a week really cost?

Three hours of cleaning a week come to 1 778,40 € a year in Brussels, 1 518,60 € in Wallonia and 1 560,00 € in Flanders. The calculation starts from 156 vouchers a year, that is 3 hours multiplied by 52 weeks, at the first-band price of each region. In Wallonia, the tax reduction of 0,90 € applies to the first 150 vouchers, so 135 € comes back on the next tax return. At that rate, Wallonia is the cheapest region even though its gross price is higher than the Flemish one: it is the tax advantage that reverses the ranking. The calculation reverses again beyond about 194 vouchers a year, that is 3.7 hours a week: the Walloon advantage stops at the 150th voucher, and the second Walloon band, at 11,60 €, is higher than the Flemish price.

How many service vouchers can you buy per year?

The ceiling is 500 vouchers per person per year, and 1 000 vouchers per household, in all three regions. A household counts everyone registered at the same address. Wallonia also provides a specific quota of 2 000 vouchers a year at the base rate for three groups: single-parent families, people with a disability or parents of a disabled child under 21, and older people. Maternity assistance is a separate scheme: 105 free vouchers, reserved for self-employed women and granted by the social insurance fund. Few agencies mention them, even though they change the annual budget of the households concerned. How long a service voucher stays valid depends on the region: 6 months in Brussels, 8 months in Wallonia, 12 months in Flanders.

Do you have to pay administrative fees?

Since 2026, a Brussels company may charge administrative fees with no legal cap, on top of the price of the vouchers. These fees must be paid separately — never with service vouchers — explicitly accepted by the client, and must correspond to real, justified costs. They cannot be unreasonable. In practice, two agencies advertising the same price per voucher can cost very different amounts over a year. Always ask for the amount in writing before you sign, and check that it appears in the same place as the price: announcing a rate without mentioning its fees is a misleading omission within the meaning of the Code of Economic Law.

Where do you buy service vouchers?

Service vouchers are bought exclusively from Pluxee, formerly Sodexo, and nowhere else. No cleaning agency sells them, Milhomem Group included. Registration is free, is done online and takes about five minutes: you receive a user number, then you order your vouchers by bank transfer. Electronic vouchers are available within the 24 hours following receipt of the payment; paper vouchers are posted within 5 working days. An instant transfer does not speed anything up. Both versions cost the same price: electronic vouchers can be ordered from a single voucher, paper ones in multiples of 10. Once you have your vouchers, you choose a company accredited in the region where you live — without that accreditation, your vouchers cannot be used with it. A company active in two regions must hold two accreditations.

The full process, step by step

What can you use a service voucher for?

A service voucher covers cleaning the home, including the windows, laundry and ironing, mending of the laundry to be ironed, and meal preparation in the private home of an individual. Outside the home, it covers ironing in a workshop, household shopping and transport for people with reduced mobility. Contrary to a stubborn misconception, cleaning the windows is expressly allowed, inside as well as outside. Gardening, painting, childcare, odd jobs and personal assistance are, for their part, excluded from the scheme. So is the cleaning of business premises: an office, a shop or a practice falls under an ordinary cleaning contract, with an invoice and VAT. That is the most frequent confusion about the scheme.

What changed in 2026, region by region

Brussels — the tax advantage is gone. Since 1 January 2026, service vouchers bought in the Brussels Region no longer give any tax reduction at all. Vouchers bought before that date keep their tax reduction of 15%, capped at 172 vouchers per person. The price has risen to 11,40 € for the first 300 vouchers, then 14,00 €. Companies may also charge administrative fees, now with no regulatory cap — check this point before you sign anywhere.

Wallonia — the only region that keeps a tax advantage. 0,90 € of tax reduction per voucher, on the first 150 bought during the year. The base price rose to 10,60 € on 1 July 2026, which puts the real cost at 9,70 € an hour for those 150 vouchers. It is the lowest cost of the three regions for everyday use, up to about 3.5 hours a week.

Flanders — the tax advantage disappeared a year earlier. Since 1 January 2025. From 2026, no tax certificate is issued at all. The price itself has not moved since 1 January 2025 and remains the lowest to start with: 10,00 € up to the 400th voucher.
